What is the activity level tracking tool?

A useful feature of the Wonder Rotunda is the activity level tracking tool that can be accessed through your My Account.  View your child's activity in the Park, including the adventures your child has explored, frequency of visits, and the topics he or she has probed to learn more about. Use this information to identify emerging interests and passions.(This information is identifiable only to you by your child's first name and not shared by the Wonder Rotunda.)

How do I give a Pass as a gift?

To gift a Pass, choose the "print Park Pass" option at the end of your purchase transaction.  Do not activate the Pass unless you are the child's parent or guardian. A name is not assigned to the Pass Code # until it is activated by a parent or guardian. So, if you are purchasing a pass and gifting it, just print out the Pass (w/code #), a Map and Guide and give to the gift recipient.
The Map and Guide provide youngsters with an overview of the Park's adventures and activities.

What role can parents play when their children visit the Wonder Rotunda?

The Wonder Rotunda gives a parent the option of creating their own avatar and joining the fun. So, a younger child and parent might explore together, much as one might on a Museum visit.

Parents can view a young person’s level of activity in the park (adventures experienced, requests to learn more, games played) by topic, they can then follow up on their child’s interests.

What topics do youngsters learn about at the Wonder Rotunda?

We recommend that you take the Free Park Tour by clicking the button on the home page TV set to learn more about each adventure. To learn what makes the Wonder Rotunda unique among educational websites for kids, click this link.

The Park's interactive adventures include: Climate Change (Polar Cap Evidence, Greenhouse Gases, Carbon Footprint) Great Barrier Reef (Marine Life, Coral Reefs), the Serengeti Migration (African Wildlife), Make a Difference (Global Needs and Causes, Giving Back), Kangaroo Island, Australia (Marsupials, Seals, Penguins), Tropical Rainforests (Conservation, Animal Wildlife), American Government (VIP Tour of Washington, Government Leaders), Healthy Eating Super-Coaster (Nutrients, Food Groups), You're in Business (Money, Running a Smoothie Stand), Our World (Globalization, United Nations), Symphony (Composers, Orchestra Instruments, Conducting), Movie Adventure (Filmmaking), Moon Mission (Apollo 11, Solar System, Galaxies, Universe) Digestive System (Digestive Process, Organs), The Arts (Overview of Visual and Performing Arts).

Each adventure takes about 15-25 minutes to experience, depending on how often a child probes more deeply for information.

What type of games do youngsters play at the Park?

There are 13 different "TV Game Shows" that kids can appear on before a "live audience" to answer questions about the information they have learned on the Park's adventures. There are more than 400 questions among the 13 games.

Kids also must find hidden gold coins in each of the adventures, and keep their avatars energized by making healthy eating choices at the Park's 12 food stands.

Kids earn Adventure Certificates, Guide Badges and Wonder Dollars. The Park's souvenir store, The House of Wonderful Stuff,  features the artifacts, animals, instruments, and other mementos from the Park's adventures. These "souvenirs" can be purchased using the Wonder Dollars that youngsters earn. Kids can also purchase postcards, which they can send via email from the Park to family or friends, and fly Blimps raising awareness of causes of interest to them.

Can two or more children share a Pass?

Multiple children can use the same pass, but please be aware that sharing a pass will commingle the rewards and game totals of the users.  It will also commingle the activity level tracking information available to a parent or guardian in their "My Account."

Each activated Pass is assigned an password protected user name.  Certificates, badges, blimps, wonder dollars, souvenirs and banners are awarded to each personal user name, saved after each visit to the Park for the duration of a Pass, and cannot be cleared.

What is your refund policy?

Passes to the Wonder Rotunda are non-refundable. Before purchasing, we recommend that you take the free Park Tour to make sure that the adventures are appropriate for your youngster. In our testing, kids as young as 7 and as old as 12, came away stimulated and eager to learn more about what they experienced. However, since children develop differently, we strongly recommend that you take the Tour before purchasing.

What are the recommended ages for the Park?

In our testing, children as young as 7 and as old as 12, came away stimulated and eager to learn more about what they experienced.

However, since children develop differently, we strongly recommend that you take the Free Park Tour on our Home Page TV set to make sure the Park is right for your child.

The Wonder Rotunda is unique in that it allows parents to create their own avatar and join a child on a visit.  We have found that this works well with children at the younger age of the spectrum.

Visiting the Wonder Rotunda, is analogous to a trip to interactive Museum.  Depending on their interests and age, some kids will probe deeper than others. Some of the adventures tackle more challenging topics than others. But, there is a broad range of engaging content for all kids, and even adults, to enjoy.

Adventures can be paused, and kids have a glossary at their finger tips to check the meaning of many terms used in the Park's adventures.

What sources were used in developing the scripts and content of the Park’s adventures?

A wide variety of books, websites and official government sources were used to develop the scripts for the adventures. The Serengeti, Great Barrier Reef, Kangaroo Island and Rain Forest adventures were based in part on personal visits and information supplied by on location park rangers and guides. Government archived material from the Apollo program were invaluable in writing the script for the Apollo 11 adventure. Positions in government service in international law held by the script writer were also helpful in writing the American Government and Our World adventures. For a detailed listing of the sources used see the Sources and Resources buttons at the end of each adventure or on our Home Page.

How do you access the glossary?

A glossary of many of the terms used in the Park's adventures can be accessed through a button on the blue, left side Menu that appears once you enter the Park.  Kids can click the pause icon on the Menu bar to pause an adventure or game show when the want to use the glossary. What are Wonder Dollars?

Wonder Dollars are the Park's currency. Kids earn them when they complete adventures, appear on TV game shows and participate in guide badge quizzes. Kids use Wonder Dollars to buy food to keep their avatar's energized, and shop for souvenirs, banners, blimps and postcards.

A Wonder Dollar account will always maintain a minimum balance of 2 Wonder Dollars to allow for the purchase of food to keep an avatar energized and capable of navigating the Park.

Who Created the Wonder Rotunda?

The Wonder Rotunda was produced by Wonder Rotunda Productions LLC.

The Park was conceived and developed by Eric Garfinkel.  In concept, the Wonder Rotunda is modeled on the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair, and international expos like it.

Young people visiting the Fair learned about the important issues of the decade, emerging technologies and international culture. For many, it played a seminal role in defining their interests, passions and career choices.
